Farewell to Graham Wemyss, six new ACA coaches, and the Windsor Development Squad

Farewell and Thank you Graham Wemyss

Graham was a well-respected member of the Windsor Croquet Club for many years. He was instrumental in the successful grant for our large blue maintenance and workshop shed. Graham also did a lot of work building and looking after our gardens. A holder of club and state titles, Graham was known as The Giant Killer for consistently knocking off seeded players in State and National Events. A gentle, kind, and considerate gentleman who was always willing to help and assist others. Thank-you Graham for your friendship and contribution to our club.

Six New ACA/Windsor Qualified Coaches

Six new ACA/Windsor Qualified Coaches.

The Windsor Croquet Club Development Squad

All our members were invited to attend our first Development Squad. Greg and Shane trained 16 participants on the following:

- Creating Individual plans - What you need to practise - What drills to concentrate on - Advance tactics - How to use percentages - How to prepare for pennants - Performing at your best

The day was a huge success with more sessions planned in the coming months.

The Windsor Pennant Teams

This year we are looking forward to competing in both the Golf and Association Pennants.

The Qld Men's Golf Open Singles - a Great Windsor Team Effort

Our members pulled together after days of rain to host the 2026 Qld Golf Men's Singles Championship. Special thanks to our President, Shane, and Julie for managing the event and all our incredible volunteers who did the following:

- Mowed and whipper snipped the surrounds - Made new hoop holes - Set hoops and dressed the lawns - Made food and picked up sandwiches - Helped clean up prior, during and after the event

Participants were delighted with the playing surface and the speed of the lawns. Everyone also enjoyed a magnificent BBQ on the final day. Thank you to all our volunteers.

This year our High-Low Club Doubles will be held on a club day with some serious prize money. It will be our most prestigious event for our members this year.
