Ernie Melville Trophy 2016 won by Kavanagh and Duffell

The Ernie Melville Trophy 2016 for Division 3 and Division 4 Association Croquet Singles was held last Saturday. There were 8 entrants from 7 clubs in the two round robin competitions.

A big thank you to Ernie for managing and refereeing the event. He also gave the players some tips on how to improve their games.

Lesley Kavanagh (Bundaberg) made the trip down to Brisbane worthwhile as she won the trophy for Division 3 undefeated.

Bruce Duffell (Wynnum) likewise won Division 4 with no losses - impressive for a player in his first tournament.

Thanks to all the competitors for making it an enjoyable and successful event. We hope to see you on the courts at Stephens Croquet Club again.

Division 4: Bruce Duffell (Wynnum), Wayne Appleby (Toombul), Chris Bekker (Caloundra) and Siri Fernando (Graceville)

Division 3: Lesley Kavanagh (Bundaberg), Helen David (Graceville), Kevin Melksham (Ipswich) and Sam Morris (Stephens)
