Ernie Melville made Life Member as Stephens croquet club hands out 2018 awards

AGM and awards day ends with a game among old friends

After the formalities of the AGM and Awards Presentation, it was time for an afternoon of delicious food, a few cold sparkling drinks and then out on the court for a game between old friends who haven't all been together for a while: Gaye, Jacky, Tom and our new Life Member, Ernie.

It was fantastic to see Jacky back playing after a couple of years away.

Association Croquet Club Champions honoured at annual awards

Also at the Annual Awards Presentation, we congratulated the Association Croquet Club Champions. Badges and certificates were presented by the Club Patron, Cr Nicole Johnston.

There was keen competition and a count back of hoops made was needed to break a tie in both divisions. Thanks to all who participated.

Division 1: Ernie Melville, runner-up Heather Knight

Division 3: Geraldine Trivett, runner-up Sam Morris

The Encouragement Award went to Geraldine Trivett, who took out the CAQ Division 3 Medal this year. Well done.

Also a club tradition, implemented to encourage the making of good breaks, is the Ladies' Highest Break. This year both Gaye Pitman and Sam Morris tied on 13 hoops. Excellent, as it is the best you can score without peeling another ball.
