Eildon remembers Terry Cole and celebrates 2025 champions

Eildon remembers Terry Cole and celebrates 2025 champions

Eildon reported with sadness the passing of Terry Cole, husband of President Jill. Terry devoted his time, talents and skills to the club with integrity and goodwill, lending a hand, sharing expertise and offering encouragement. He was awarded the Petrie Shield for Club Volunteer in 2023, and Eildon said he would remain in the memories of its croquet family.

The club also reported on the final event of the 2025 Eildon Andrew Reibelt Sunday Golf Singles Series, with players from Bribie Island, Twin Rivers, Wynnum and Eildon. Many games went to the 13th hoop. Block A was won by Steve B of Bribie, with Robert K of Eildon second. Block B was won by Megan S of Eildon, with Steve H of Eildon runner up. Block C was won by Gavin R of Eildon, with Andre S of Eildon second. Block D was won undefeated by Nathan G of Wynnum, with Graham B of Eildon runner up.

At the presentations, Penny presented Association Champions Paula and Reno with trophies.

Louise, the Ricochet Captain, presented trophies to Div 1 Champion Les, Div 2 Champion Robert R and Div 3 Champion Sally.

Golf co-captain Desley presented the Golf Champions: Bob M in Division 1, Robert R in Div 2 and Tony D in Div 3. Robert Roose was congratulated for success across three codes.

After presentations, morning tea and raffles with Councillor and Patron Karl and representatives from the Breakfast Club, members went to the Belvedere for the annual Christmas lunch. Eildon will continue the Sunday Series, Belvedere Plaque, Eildon Invitational and two Gala Days in 2026.
