Eildon Hosts 2nd Sunday Singles Tournament 2026

Last Sunday, the club hosted the 2nd Sunday Singles Tournament for 2026.

Sixteen players from Bribie Island, Windsor, Eildon and Wynnum participated in four blocks of four, playing level games.

While there was plenty of fun and laughter on the veranda, the courts were a different story, with every player battling hard in each game and enjoying the excitement of the competition.

A particularly memorable match came in the final game of Block C, where Helen Lefrere and Graeme Jesse went into overtime at Hoop 13, producing a thrilling finish.

The block winners were:

Block A: Dolly Taylor (Bribie Island) Block B: Steve Helleur (Eildon) Block C: Valentine Lefrere (Eildon) Block D: Mary Gray (Windsor)

A big thank you to Paula Browne for her superb catering, and to John Smith, who stepped in at the last minute as an experienced player to complete the field. Your help was greatly appreciated.

A big thanks also to Christine Rose who was Tournament Manager.
