Eildon holds Don Turner memorial competition and busy weekend of croquet
Eildon held a memorial competition for past member Don Turner, with two block winning pairs. Five members also played at Wynnum, and the Andrew Reibelt Sunday Series ran across three blocks.
Busy weekend of croquet for Eildon members

busy few days were spent over the last weekend.
Five Eildon members played in the Wynnum Winner Takes All event, held over two days on 5-6 October. Desley and Lorraine, Peter and Robert K, and Megan and Marilyn from East Brisbane pitted their skills against the other nine pairs. Bad news was none of our members won the money. Good news was that Desley and Peter were winners of the raffles.
The Andrew Reibelt Sunday Series was held on Sunday with three blocks of four players taking part. Congratulations to Casey, who won 5 games in Block A, Robert R, the winner of Block B with 4 games, and Tony, who was the winner of Block C with 5 games.
Thank you to Jill and Chris for being Tournament Manager and Assistant Tournament Manager, Bob for refereeing and Paula for catering. None of these events can be successful without our great volunteers.
Eildon honours Don Turner with memorial competition

Fabulous competition held at Eildon last Wednesday in honour of past member, Don Turner.
Don was a fixture at the club, playing AC, RC and GC. In Don's memory, his family donated a perpetual trophy, for winners' names to be inscribed.
This year we played a hybrid version of 2-shot, incorporating elements of all the codes loved and played by Don.
Winners this year: Les Watson and Ruth Fielding-Barnsley in one block, and Bob Martin and Brett Connor in the other.
Special thanks to Kedron Wavell Services Club for donating funds towards our celebratory lunch. Everyone had a great day.
