hanks to a grant from Moreton Bay Regional Council, we can finally retire Lawrie's trailer, which has served its purpose well over the years, mainly carting grass and other waste to the tip.

Pictured is the new, larger trailer, with the old green trailer sitting in the background, held together by green paint and rust.

Thanks for the use of the trailer, Lawrie.

Last weekend, Southport Mallet Sports Club hosted a Teams and Doubles competition with teams from as far afield as Rockhampton and Toowoomba.

In the Teams section, Eildon was represented by two teams, The Woody Pointers and Colour Crew. The Woody Pointers won four of their nine games and finished sixth, whilst the Colour Crew won three and came eighth overall. The tournament winner in the Teams section was Toowoomba, with the team from Caloundra coming second.

In the Doubles tournament there were six Eildon players playing in various pairings. Ros Crowe and Margaret Bevan won three of their block draw games, Robert Roose and Richard Bevan won three, Fran Buckle and her partner won three, and Nancy Scamp and her partner won one. The final was won by a father and son pairing, Steve Kele (Rockhampton) and Chris Kele (McIlwraith).
