Eildon celebrates the year with awards morning tea
Around 40 Eildon members gathered for the club's annual Awards and Break-up morning tea. Trophies were presented, raffles drawn, and a special guest from Woody Point Special School said a few words.
n a bright sunny morning Eildon ended the year with our annual Awards and Break-up morning tea.
Around 40 members, or half the club membership, turned up to see competition winners during the year presented with their now-engraved trophies. Raffles followed, with baskets donated by Federal MP for Petrie Luke Howarth, State MP for Redcliffe Yvette D'Ath, and Butcher Baker Coffeemaker, the best cafe in Woody Point. There were also baskets started by club members Jill and Paula, to which members contributed.
Thank you all for your support.
Please see image captions for more information.
Absent from the presentation:
- Kiwi Cup GC winner Wade Hart - GC Div 1 winner Lawrie Simpson - ACA GC Bronze Medal winner Lawrie Simpson
A special guest was Sandra Kennedy from Woody Point Special School, which has been Eildon's chosen fund-raising beneficiary for the past 4 years. Looking after 92 special needs children is a very worthy cause and we were pleased to have Sandra say a few words.
After the presentations a large group adjourned to the nearby Belvedere Hotel for a great lunch and some liquid refreshments after what has been a long, different, but satisfying year for the Eildon Club.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our members, and to all our Facebook Friends.
