Eildon celebrates Don's Day in honour of Don Turner

On Wednesday 16th October, Eildon Croquet Club celebrated Don's Day in honour of Don Turner, a long-time member of the club. Don played Association, Golf and Ricochet for many years and was still playing croquet in his nineties. He was also the designer of our wonderful and easy-to-use trolleys.

Approximately thirty players took to the courts to play a modified game and also enjoyed morning tea and lunch. Thank you to the volunteers led by Paula and Terry, who ensured everyone was hydrated and had plenty to eat.

Four players, Bob Martin, Keith Williams, Mike Mabbutt and Robert Kidd, played off to decide the winner, with Robert winning the inaugural Don Turner Perpetual Trophy.

Thank you to Don's family for their kind donation of the trophy. It is a wonderful memorial to such a great club member.
