Eildon BallyCara Gala Day ends in a downpour

The Eildon BallyCara Gala Day was eventful! 32 players began in an atmosphere thick with humidity and overcast skies.

This didn't prevent a fun day of croquet, which almost got completed before the heavens opened up with a downpour on proceedings. Sadly, the last game could not be completed before players had to retire to the deck to witness the deluge.

The winner was croquet, but the scorer's final ladder had these results:

Block A - Winners: Jannene Wall and Judy Fairclough - Runners up: Les Watson and Ruth F Barnsley

Block B - Winners: Rino Parella and Joan Gleason - Runners up: Liz Fleming and Jan McNee

Thanks to our sponsor BallyCara and local businesses butcher, baker & coffee maker... oh, and Bottlemart Margate (who didn't quite fit the rhyme) for raffle prize donations.

Much success!
