eirdre Giles represented the Wynnum Croquet Club in the CAQ GC Women's Open Singles held at Toombul on 7-8 April 2018.

All 12 players competed in a round robin format, playing 6 untimed 13-point games on Saturday. The remaining 5 games of the round robin were played on Sunday.

Deirdre ended up with a higher place than she was seeded at the start of the tournament. Well done.

Our own Liz Fleming presented the trophy for CAQ's GC Women's Singles to Helen Rillie of Headland/Buderim.

We would like to invite all croquet players and their friends to come to Wynnum Croquet Club during this week in April and see some of the world's best players in action.

The test series has been played 10 times since 1991, with New Zealand winning 6, Australia 3 and one series drawn in 1995. Australia won the last two series, in 2011 and 2013.

Note: All play will be suspended at 10.30am on Wednesday 25 April 2018 to allow time for an official ANZAC Day ceremony to be held.
