Dalby's World Croquet Day come-and-try draws 18 players
Dalby Croquet Club marked World Croquet Day with a come-and-try afternoon. Eighteen people turned up to teach or learn golf croquet, well above what the small club expected.
s you know, we held a come-and-try day to celebrate World Croquet Day. Being a small club, we were not sure what to expect. We knew who from our club was attending, but, like croquet, anything can be a hit or a miss.
We rolled up to the club just after 1:30 pm to set things up for a 2:00 pm start. Not knowing who was actually attending, we decided to count our club members and round it up to 20, which we admittedly thought was somewhat ambitious.
Much to our surprise and excitement, we had a total of 18 people either teaching or learning to play golf croquet. We wish to thank all those who came along and all those who wanted to learn the game of croquet.
Our club members enjoyed connecting with those in our community and from further afield. It was a pleasure to share our knowledge of the game and our community during a relaxed afternoon that fostered friendship and connections.
