ulogy for Jocelyn
"Last Thursday, the Croquet Club gathered alongside family and friends to remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable matriarch and a devoted croquet player. Her legacy lives on in the memories we hold dear and the lessons she imparted to all who had the privilege of playing croquet with her in Dalby and at friendship days in Toowoomba.
In the game of croquet, as in life, the true measure of a player isn't just found in the score, but in the grace with which they play and the company they keep. As our President of 18 years and friend, Jocelyn played a masterclass of a game, guiding our club with a steady hand and a kind heart.
While she has now passed through the final hoop and completed her long break, her influence remains firmly rooted in the lawns of Dalby and the friendships she fostered in Toowoomba.
We like to think she is already onto the next green, finding level lawns, perfect light, and perhaps gently ensuring the hoops are set just right for the afternoon session. So we retire her mallet today with heavy hearts but immense gratitude, knowing that she played the game of life with absolute distinction. May she rest in peace beyond the boundary peg."
