Capricorn Coast MSC presents annual awards and hopes for new members
Capricorn Coast MSC presents 2022 club awards, elects a new executive, and makes gaining more members a top priority for 2023.
What a change from this time last year! Last January we were suffering heat wave conditions but now regular consistent rain has provided us with not only lush vegetation but cool temperatures. No doubt it will soon end and a hot February will follow! Our end of year break up was the usual morning of fun with competitive Finska followed by Christmas trivia. Before moving to a nearby restaurant for lunch our new president, Elaine Triffitt, presented the annual club awards. The following members received certificates and trophies for 2022.
Ricochet: Winner – Geoff Davis. Runner Up – Bill Murphy. Golf: Winner – Lyn Hanlon. Runner Up – Bill Murphy. Ricochet Doubles: Winners – Carmel Parker & Cheryl Lamb. Runners Up: Greg Featherstone & Lyn Hanlon. Kath Hayes Doubles Gateball Trophy: Winners – Carmel Parker & Cheryl Lamb. Runners Up – Greg Featherstone & Bill Murphy. Tattam Trophy: Highest Break – Lyn Christiansen & Cheryl Lamb. Lewara Trophy: Most Improved – Valda Keene. Club Captain: Encouragement Award – Sue Frame.
During 2022, due to unforeseen circumstances, there was no competition in Association.
CCMSC's AGM was held a week prior to our breakup. Executive for 2023 includes: President - Elaine Triffitt; Secretary – Lyn Christiansen; Treasurer – Cheryl Lamb.

We are looking forward to a happier 2023, not losing valued members through various reasons and not too many repairs and damages. One of these concerned an incident during the latter part of 2022. Two panels of our front fence were destroyed by a drunken driver who managed to stall his utility in our front garden. Thankfully, as our lease is with Livingstone Shire Council, their insurance covered the repair of the fence. Before this could occur, one of our handy members, Geoff Davis, erected an interim makeshift fence to help with security.
More members are a high priority for our club for 2023! Play resumed on Saturday, 21 January. Wishing all clubs a healthy and successful 2023. Lyn Christiansen
