Cameron Unwin showed the recent improvement in his game by beating a more experienced opponent in Jim Philp. Cameron had the advantage of five bisques, or extra turns, and managed these well to get the win.

Cameron could not maintain his momentum in the game against Bruce Fleming, even though he had fifteen and a half bisques. Bruce, with extensive international experience, was able to seize his opportunities and win comfortably.

The game between Jim and Bruce was a close-run affair, with Jim having ten and a half bisques. Jim managed the game well and played a very solid, reliable game. He used his extra turns intelligently to quickly run up a twenty-one point lead.

Bruce managed to get into the game in the latter stages, with all bisques gone, and pegged out one of Jim's balls. A tactical pegged-out game ensued in the last half hour, with Bruce pressing home his advantage to win the game and the event.
