Bribie prepares for awards, seniors morning tea and court renovations
Bribie Island looks ahead to presentation lunch, Seniors Month, November events and annual court renovations after a strong year of lawn improvement.
Although Christmas and New Year festivities are fast approaching, Bribie Island players are not yet in shutdown mode. Annual Championships have finished, and Friday 3 October will bring the club's annual award presentation lunch.
October is also Seniors Month, and the club is organising a free morning tea on Saturday 25 October to celebrate and connect with the local community. The aim is good food, good fun, new friends and a chance for visitors to discover an activity that helps mind, body and soul.
Two events are planned for November. Saturday 1 November is the final Interclub Golf Gala Day for 2025, and Saturday 15 November is the annual charity fundraiser, this year supporting CADA, the Centre Against Domestic Abuse.
Between 6 and 16 October members will have a forced rest from croquet while R.T. Greenkeeping completes annual court renovations. The club is grateful for the difference professional greenkeeping has made. Before 2024 the courts were a headache, but now the club has five well-grassed lawns, no bare patches and shaded areas under Council trees.
