Bendigo Bank competition results at Wynnum

The Bendigo Community Bank competition was held on Sunday 31st August with a full complement of players. Each division had 8 pairs, with every court being double banked.

Fortunately, the savage winds from the day before didn't return on Sunday. However, the winds had made the court surfaces super quick.

Close games and great play made for some interesting score lines. At the end of the day, the results were:

Bendigo Bank Division 1

- Winners: Bob Martin and Desley Bischoff (Eildon) - Runners up: Gordon Giles (Wynnum) and Mary McMahon (Southport) - Third place: Graham McLean and Claire Warriner (Windsor)

Bendigo Bank Division 2

- Winners: Sidney Bates and Kerry Snow (Stephens) - Runners up: Robert Kidd and Lorraine Hathaway (Eildon) - Third place: David Ford and Beryl Russell (Wynnum)

We congratulate everyone on a fine performance on the day. You all played exceedingly well.

It's so great to catch up with players we haven't seen in a while and welcome new players.

Our team of volunteers must be thanked for their constant support, from our super duper referees, plus our grounds people who set up courts, gazebos, tables/chairs etc, our wonderful catering crew who are always amazing, and finally our club members who provide delicious food for players and staff throughout the day.

Thank you so much, you are all very much appreciated. Your efforts help to make it a fabulous day.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge and thank Bendigo Bank for their sponsorship and support. It was great to have Bank Manager Justine present the awards and prize money to our winners. It was a pleasure to have her join us.
