The club celebrated World Croquet Day by organising a match between "The Northern Hemisphere" and "The Southern Hemisphere". Members' names were drawn out of a hat to select the teams and competition was intense. In the end both teams were equal on games won but the North just triumphed on a hoop count back. On the day, the club was festooned with some 100 flags of the world and a special trophy was struck for the competition.

Club Secretary Heather Little presented the trophy to Ken, the captain of the winning Northern Hemisphere Team.
The day was rounded off with a special afternoon tea organised by the club provedore Dot Davidson, with favourite foods from the North - sausage rolls - and from the South - pavlova.
