A family heirloom mallet returns to the Toowoomba club

Today, I took my Aunty Girtie's mallet that a cousin had lent to me to my club. I was curious to try it out and compare it with my 'you-beaut' modern day mallet.

Well, as an absolute coincidence, another cousin presented at our club for a try out of our wonderful game. Auntie Girtie was Debra's Nanna and how special it was for the both of us to use this mallet which we both assumed may have been used as early as the 1940's but definitely in the 1950's and 60's. It still had a lovely feel to it but I won't be trading in my red stallion.
